We are facing uncertain times in 2020 due to the coronavirus
Whilst we experience these uncertain times and heightened anxiety, here is a little help and comfort coming your way to ease some of the panic and worried thoughts we have for ourselves and for others who share this earth.
It is crucial to keep up our health and vitality during this difficult period. We encourage you to ground yourself, meditate, do simple stretches, yoga, running, home workouts or however it is possible for you to move, whether it is inside or outside, in order to keep your energy levels up.
We can use this space to be more creative in the kitchen and increase our nutrient intake, to really nourish our bodies as well as our minds. Using organic fresh vegetables where possible will provide more vitamins that we all need now more of than ever. Think about adding more spices and herbs, leafy greens and fruit for vitamin C.
Why is Vitamin D so important?
Vitamin D is essential for our bones, teeth, and muscles, and it predominantly comes from the sun, so if you can, try to spend an hour in your garden if you have one, sit on your balcony, and if not, take a vitamin D supplement.
It is important to drink lots of water regularly and salt gargle to help kill and flush out infections.
How do you keep your hands moisturised?
With all the excessive hand washing and use of alcohol and chemical-heavy sanitisers, our hands are getting stripped of our natural oils and so they are becoming dry and irritated. You can re nourish them at the end of the day with waterless moisturising creams. For example, our ArganShea Multitasking Cream has a soothing and calming effect on the skin, along with uplifting essential oils, and the presence of geranium, which has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties.
Keep your mental health in check.
Whilst we take care of our bodies and our immune systems, it is crucial to look after our mental health too. We can do this by slowing down, looking deeper within ourselves, becoming more intuitive, and being able to have a more integrative viewpoint to our health. As we will be indoors more, our skin will need some tender care and Herbs&Trees Balancing Facial Serum can come to the rescue in the evening, to nourish and calm it with the help of argan, camellia, calendula, and jojoba oils! And with the re-balancing and astringent properties of tea tree and geranium essential oils to help maintain protection from infections, it will help your skin to stay clean and healthy. As an addition to your self-care routine, breathing in while applying the serum will help to absorb all the beneficial properties from the oils. We concentrate on the aromatherapeutic benefits of the product, and after massaging the serum onto your face, use the oil left on your hands placing your palms over your nose, covering the eyes with your fingers for a few moments. Now just breathe, inhaling and exhaling a few times, releasing some tension to help you feel revitalised with a sense of calm right before bedtime.
Keep positive in the morning.
Before we go on with our day in the morning, when we use NeroliPom Moisturiser, neroli’s uplifting properties can help us have a more positive view of the day ahead and reduce stress. Just think for instance of the quality time we could spend with our family indoors, a time we would usually only have in the evening or during the holidays. Or perhaps of the things we could not do if we were not stuck indoors, like reading a book, learn something new. Let’s concentrate on the positives when we wake up and start the day.
We are grateful for our planet.
When we look at humanity's global needs, the plants are what we desperately need.
Terre Verdi's skincare range is organic for a reason, and every plant that is harvested, processed and then used in our products has been respected and cared for. Our holistic approach to life is paramount in how our products are made and in which oils and other ingredients are used.
Try to keep a sense of calm.
Our self-care is vital in sustaining a balanced and healthy way of life. In these especially uncertain and challenging times we are facing, we are most likely feeling out of control which will have an effect on our entire body, whether it is our busy minds or unnourished skin. By moving your body any way you can, taking time to sit down to eat and drink, and taking care of your skin all lend a hand to a more balanced life, and calm you!
Let’s try to be grateful of what we do have, be present and take in each moment. Look forward to the seasonal change with spring on its way with new growth and warmer months ahead of us to celebrate and cheer us up!
Wishing you to be safe and stay healthy!
The Terre Verdi Team
